Daily Reflections: Humble Yourself Before God

Scott O’Neill

Reading Overview:

Today's readings highlight the dangers of pride and the importance of humility before God. The first reading from Ezekiel warns against arrogance, as the prince of Tyre falsely claims divinity. The Gospel of Matthew discusses the challenge of the wealthy entering God's Kingdom, emphasizing that salvation is only possible through God.

Reflection:

Pride can blind us to our need for God, leading to our downfall. True humility recognizes our dependence on God's grace and mercy. Jesus reminds us that worldly wealth and status cannot secure our salvation—only God can.

Application:

Reflect on areas where pride may be hindering your relationship with God. Practice humility by acknowledging your need for His guidance, and trust in His power to lead you to eternal life.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to humble myself before You. Free me from the chains of pride and worldly desires. Grant me the grace to depend on Your mercy and to trust in Your plan for my life. Amen.
