Daily Reflections: Choosing to Follow

Scott O’Neill

Reading Overview:

In today's readings, Joshua challenges the Israelites to choose whom they will serve, urging them to be faithful to the Lord. The Gospel recounts Jesus' difficult teaching about His flesh and blood, leading many disciples to abandon Him, but Peter reaffirms faith in Jesus as the Holy One of God.

Reflection:

The readings emphasize the importance of making a conscious choice to follow God, even when His teachings are challenging. Faith requires commitment and trust in God’s plan.

Application:

In moments of doubt or difficulty, choose to remain steadfast in your faith, trusting that God’s ways, though hard to understand, lead to eternal life.

Prayer:

Lord, strengthen my resolve to follow You, even when Your teachings are hard. Help me to trust in Your wisdom and to choose You above all else. Amen.
